The thread on the pipe is tapered. Due to the stress caused by the tapered thread of the outer half pressing into the orifice of the inner half or parts, the pipe thread is easy to leak, because they are sensitive to torque and over tightening will cause the thread to deform too much, and form a leakage channel around the thread. In addition, when exposed to vibration and wide range of temperature changes, the pipe thread is easy to loosen.

When using pipe fittings in high pressure hydraulic system, attention should be paid to the leakage around the thread. Because the pipe thread is tapered, repeated assembly and disassembly will only deform the thread, thus aggravating the leakage problem, especially when using forged fittings in cast iron ports.

If the components in the hydraulic system do not need to be disassembled, the reliability can be improved by brazing or welding, but it is inevitable that the components can be repaired or replaced only when the connection is disconnected. Therefore, in addition to the professional hydraulic system, there should be detachable accessories.
